As principal of Lexington Junior High School, it gives me great pleasure to extend to all of our new and returning students, faculty and staff, and our greater school community, a warm welcome to Lexington. Lexington is a school rich in a tradition of excellence; recently recognized as a California Distinguished School. Throughout its more than thirty five years of service to the community, Lexington has consistently met and exceeded the educational needs of a diverse student populace. Our greatest assets in furthering this legacy have been our students and educators, whose commitment and dedication to Lexington is evident in the rich history and tradition of academic, athletic, and social excellence, as well as exemplary parent and community involvement. Lexington Junior High School is a superior school dedicated to student excellence and focusing on academic and social growth for all. It is a wonderful place to teach and learn. A major contributor to the school’s greatness is the strong support from the parents, the school personnel, district administration and the board of trustees. The collaborative effort among all the constituents is critical to our annual advancement. Our API of 853 reflects our dedication to hard work and academic rigor.

I am very proud of the numerous programs at Lexington designed to benefit students, including honors classes, AVID, industrial technology courses, English Learner classes, special education services, after school sports, fine arts programs, and extracurricular clubs and organizations.

 

In 2008-2009, we will assist each student in becoming responsible, healthy and productive citizens. Our teachers will continue to focus on academic excellence through California Standards-based instruction, frequent student assessments, and improved teacher/parent collaboration. As a school and community team, we hope to continue our tradition as a high performing junior high school and as the pride of Cypress.
