PARENTS: BRINGING A FORGOTTEN ITEM TO SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILD?
There is a procedure in place for all items brought to students after school begins. To eliminate as many interruptions in the classroom as possible, we have a procedure for students to receive items left at home. If you are bringing a lunch, book, paper, P.E. clothes, etc. to your student, please take it to the Main Office. The student's name will be printed on a giant whiteboard that sits outside the Health Office, near the quad. When the student sees their name on the board they'll know that there is something in the Main Office for them to pick-up. They are to come to the office between classes or at lunchtime to pick it up. The purpose for this procedure is to give the teacher the maximum amount of uninterrupted teaching time, and to help the student be responsible for whatever they need for school. Thank you for your cooperation with this procedure. Note: For the 1st quarter of the 09-10 school year (9 weeks) - 690 items were brought to school for students! Teachers lose at least 2 minutes each time their classroom is interrupted...that would have been at least 1380 minutes of lost teaching time if we had interrupted the classes to give students those items they forgot. |
